딸과 함께 독서

One of the most precious daily rituals I have with my 7-year-old daughter is our bedtime reading sessions.

Every night before she goes to sleep, we spend about 20 to 30 minutes reading together, and honestly, it's become one of the highlights of my day.

We started this habit when she was just a toddler.

Back then, I would read simple picture books to her, pointing at the images and making funny sounds for different characters.

그때는 간단한 그림책을 읽어주면서 이미지를 가리키고 다른 캐릭터를 위해 재미있는 소리를 냈습니다.

As she grew older, we gradually moved to books with more text and complex stories.

커가면서 점차 더 많은 텍스트와 복잡한 이야기가 있는 책으로 옮겼습니다.

Watching her reading ability develop over the years has been incredibly rewarding.

수년에 걸쳐 딸의 읽기 능력이 발전하는 것을 보는 것은 믿을 수 없을 정도로 보람 있었습니다.

These days, she's able to read many words by herself, so we take turns reading pages.

요즘은 많은 단어를 혼자 읽을 수 있어서 번갈아 가며 페이지를 읽습니다.

I'll read one page, then she'll attempt the next.

제가 한 페이지를 읽으면 딸이 다음 페이지를 시도합니다.

When she encounters difficult words, I help her sound them out, and we discuss what the story means.

어려운 단어를 만나면 발음하는 것을 도와주고 이야기가 무엇을 의미하는지 토론합니다.

Her favorite books right now are about magical adventures and animals.

지금 가장 좋아하는 책은 마법 모험과 동물에 관한 것입니다.

She particularly loves a Korean series about fairy tales and any book that features a princess.

특히 동화에 관한 한국 시리즈와 공주가 나오는 모든 책을 좋아합니다.

What I find most valuable about these sessions isn't just the reading itself, but the quality time and bonding it provides.

이 시간에서 가장 가치 있게 생각하는 것은 독서 자체뿐만 아니라 제공하는 양질의 시간과 유대감입니다.

We cuddle up together on her bed, surrounded by her stuffed animals, and enter different worlds through the stories.

딸의 침대에서 인형들에 둘러싸여 함께 껴안고 이야기를 통해 다른 세계에 들어갑니다.

Sometimes the stories spark interesting conversations about life, friendship, and other topics.

때때로 이야기가 삶, 우정, 다른 주제에 대한 흥미로운 대화를 촉발합니다.

I believe that establishing a love for reading early in life is one of the greatest gifts I can give her as a parent.

어린 시절 독서에 대한 사랑을 확립하는 것이 부모로서 줄 수 있는 가장 큰 선물 중 하나라고 믿습니다.
